Cole Update: Todays therapy bought new breakthroughs this morning!! Cole made a fist with his left hand when asked and also raised his left leg!!
He also knew who our president was via photos and also could pick out a variety different colors. He was able to do basic subtraction and addition!!! Looking at a group of pictures he could identify what each photo was. (food items, clothing items, personalities, etc). what a day today was!!!!! YOU GO COLE!!!!!
I should note he is only pointing to the answers and not speaking them yet. Although at this pace I suspect he will be talking soon enough!!!

After a couple of days in a holding pattern while waiting for Liver enzymes to decrease. Cole has finally made out of the hospital and over to the rehab center in Sun City,AZ. As before he is still doing everything that is asked of him. He can focus on someone across the room and throw a small ball to them with his right arm (still not much left side movement).
He has been able to chew on and swallow ice chips and he is starting to smile more. He has been out of his bed and in a wheelchair for some fresh air and some hall patrol.
Again, thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers!!!!

Cole Update: Cole should be transferring to rehab tomorrow. He is responding to rehab very well. He is doing all the tasks that the therapists are asking of him and doing it with a smile. Yes he is smiling (He likes his nurses).
He is more than ready to get out of that bed. There is still a shade of movement on the left side but the Docs seem to think he will be walking with an aid within a year or so. It’s been an amazing amount of progress in such a short time. He is astounding his Doctors with his daily improvements. Thanks to all for the prayers, thoughts and donations. Cole gives a big thumbs up to everyone.

Cole update: Some great news today! Cole is to be moved from the hospital to the rehab center.
The DR’s feel he is ready to get started on his rehab process. He is able to do a bit more in the way of following his Doctor’s and Mom’s commands to move his various limbs and digits everyday. His Mom Staci Rowell and Stepdad Lee Rowell have been by his side since day one at the ICU.
His Sisters, Tiffany Greenwood and Ashlea Johnston and their Aunt Maureen have been generating funds through raffles, car washes, poker tournaments and other events in Texas.
Cole may not realize it yet but he has an army of cheerleaders rooting him on.

Cole update: Should be out of ICU and back in his own room soon. Breathing is normal and the fever has subsided. The therapist had Cole sitting up at edge of his bed with support and has started some of his therapies.
Cole should be starting his speech threapy also. While he is still a long ways from being out of the woods yet, the gains he has made in the last couple of weeks are nothing short of miraculous.
Thanks to all that have donated, prayed and put him in your thoughts.

Cole Update: Last night Cole was moved from his regular room back to ICU. He had some difficulty breathing and he started getting a fever.
As of this morning the breathing is back to normal and the fever is under control. I would guess he will be in ICU under observation for a bit before they move him back upstairs. These speed bumps are to be expected as he progresses towards his full recovery. As always please keep the thoughts and prayers flowing Coles way!! Thank You!!!
